Working on a decorating project for a client, we wanted to find that perfect couch. Something lush, with diamond tufts. Maybe feeling like a deco library couch. I had seen them in magazines, and loved the look.
So we started shopping. Wouldn’t you know it, but we could not find the style in the dimensions and colour that I wanted. Not a single store in the Big Smoke carried just want we wanted. Decorators can be pretty picky when it comes to the details, and retail stores just weren’t cutting it.
Enter The Gresham House. What a fabulous place. I have had custom upholstery done, in a lets-recover-this-fun-vintage-piece kind of way, but this is different. Let me tell you a little bit about the Gresham House and how they can help you! Firstly, every piece is made in Canada. You can go in and see your piece being made, if so inclined. So, quality, check. Good working conditions for employees, check. And a huge array of fabrics to choose from, check and check.
Michaela and I did a tour of the showroom and the factory, and were very impressed with the options available, and quality of work.
So the next time you are looking for that just-right upholstered chair, ask your designer to take you to The Gresham House. We will definitely be recommending custom upholstery to our clients, and may even pick up a few pieces for our home staging inventory!
