Many years ago, when I first started my home staging business, I spent a lot of time meeting realtors, and asking what they did to prepare for listing.  The typical response was, "oh, I just tell the client to put personal pics away, and make sure the house is tidy, and, you know, move a couple things around".  

I rarely address market conditions.  When people ask what I think, my response is typically, "hold on, while I dust off my crystal ball".  I leave the market assessments to the experts - analysts, bankers, economists and realtors.  After all, we all have different filters through which we see data. 

Some properties call for colour, while others would benefit from a more neutral palette.  

In this property, we felt that the location (gritty downtown, urban) and the strong lines in the condo would benefit from a more natural approach.

Condo bedrooms can be small, really small. Like, hobbit sized small.  How do you fit the bed, and the clothes, and the knick knacks all in one tiny room?

Whether for staging or design,  many designer stick with one style only. If the theme is Mid-Century, then everything is Mid-Century.  If the house is Transitional, then it follows that the furnishings should be the same.  We disagree!

Pro Tip:  you can achieve great design, by intermixing different styles!
